WANDERLOST - the movies

Koncept för appen  WanderLost skapades som en vandring i ett stadslandskap. Fyra karaktärer - Flanören, Vagabonden, Spelaren, Turisten - var guider till utforskandet av Kødbyen i centrala Köpenhamn. Testversion sommaren 2016.
A koncept for the app WanderLost invited participants to a journey in an urban landscape. Four characters – The Flaneur, The Vagabond, The Player, The Tourist - acted as guides to the exploration of Kødbyen in central Copenhagen. Test version summer 2016.

The Flaneur
Characteristics / An active gaze, a playful look. Yet with a distance. A wordly spectator, an amusing touch of possible fantasies.
The Flaneur...practices the art and act of walking...has all the pleasures of modern life...can have the ultimate freedom and live a life of surfaces.

The Tourist
Characteristics / Open minded and sometimes shameless. Sees the world as a playground. Social on a surface level.
The Tourist..
.is a systematic seeker of experiences...favourite slogan is ”I need more space”...has a home, but is not home-sick.

The Vagabond
Characteristics / Self centered, independent gaze. Friendly but always with a guarded attitude. Proud. Strong. A worker.
The Vagabond...is the stranger, he can never settle down...has no set destination. Unpredictable, free-roaming...each place for him is a stopover.

The Player
Characteristics / Always curious, an open look. Quick gaze and active movements. A social playful way of meeting new people, but never in an intimate way.
The Player...is always looking for opportunities...is always ”one ahead”, more or less clever...sees the world as a game. Of risks, of intuition.

Appen WanderLost bjuder in deltagare till en resa, utmanar till en vandring i ett stadslandskap där upplevelsen kan förändras av deltagarnas input. Vi får möta fyra karaktärer - Flanören, Vagabonden, Spelaren, Turisten. De är en slags guider till utforskandet av Kødbyen i centrala Köpenhamn. Du kan välja att följa i deras fotspår genom området och skapa egna. Dina handlingar blir dina val.

Under 2016 kommer PRAMnetMEDIAlab i samarbete med Högskolan i Kristianstad och Digital Design programmet utveckla den interaktiva appen WanderLost. Fokus ligger på socialt deltagande inom stadsutveckling och social hållbarhet – demokrati som kulturell handling. Appen är en demo som skall kunna mappas på olika geografisk platser; resande, reflektioner, konsekvenser och berättelser om framtiden/staden/demokrati kan delas i andra sociala och kulturella projekt än de vi utforskar i WanderLost.

WanderLost är en del av det EU-finansierade projektet The Journey to Abadyl och kommer att innehålla olika former av utmaningar och val som genomförs i stadsrummet, den kommer att designas som ett interaktivt spel och som en visuell upplevelse. WanderLost ger tillgång och medskapande till ett narrativt material, WanderLost Kit, som innehåller filmsekvenser och ljud, meddelanden och vittnesmål, delar av en berättelse som väntar på att bli upptäckt och skapad av deltagarna. En berättelse där drömmar och ideer om en idealisk stad är centrala och kan delas med andra.

"Walking is a mode of making the world as well as being in it" in "Wanderlust: A History of Walking," Rebecca Solnit

The app WanderLost invite participants to a journey, a hike in an urban landscape changing according to the participants' input. We meet four characters – The Stroller, The Vagabond, The Player, The Tourist. They are guides to the exploration of Kødtbyen in central Copenhagen. You can choose to follow their footprints in the area or create your own. Your actions becomes your choices.

During 2016 PRAMnetMedialab will develop the interactive app WanderLost in collaboration with the University of Kristianstad and the Digital Design program. The focus is on social participation in urban development and social sustainability - democracy as a cultural act. The app can be mapped on different geographic locations; travelling, reflections, consequences and stories about the future / town / democracy can be shared in social and cultural project.

WanderLost is part of the EU-funded project The Journey to Abadyl and will include various forms of challenges and choices that are implemented in the urban space, it will be designed as an interactive game and as a visual experience. WanderLost provides access and co-creation to narrative materials, The Wanderlust Kit, which includes footage and sound, messages and testimonies, parts of a story waiting to be discovered and created by the participants. A story where dreams and ideas of an ideal city is central and can be shared with others.
